FNG-LABEL

Advanced Impact Research GmbH (AIR) is the independent certification body for the FNG-Labels. We review and assess the submitted applications according to a documented and transparent procedure and award the labels on the basis of the Rules of Procedure and the General Certification Terms and Conditions.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Both FNG-Labels share the same structure: a binding minimum standard (“mandatory”) with minimum exclusions and a grading model (“optional”) with up to three stars. The distinction between the two labels is based on a detailed questionnaire.

Established FNG-Label

  • Objective: value-oriented, management of ESG opportunities and risks, or sustainable investments (SFDR/EU taxonomy)
  • Investment strategies: e.g. exclusions, best-in/of-class approaches, thematic investments or engagement
  • Minimum exclusions: in accordance with the Rules of Procedure, apply to 100% of the portfolio
  • Grading model: 0–3 stars

FNG-Label Transition

  • Objective: transition
  • Investment strategy: exclusively sustainable transition strategies
  • Minimum exclusions: in accordance with the Rules of Procedure, apply to 100% of the portfolio
  • Transition approach: at least 80% of the portfolio
  • Grading model: 0–3 stars

APPLICATION

Applications for the FNG-Labels 2027 are submitted digitally via the online tool. Financial products (in particular investment funds) and wealth management universes with sustainability characteristics that are authorized for distribution in Germany, Austria, Switzerland or Liechtenstein, or for which authorization has been applied for with the competent supervisory authority, are eligible to apply, provided that the applicable access requirements are met.

Optional pre-screening: It provides an initial assessment of whether your product is likely to meet the essential requirements and which of the two labels is the better fit. It does not replace the full assessment and does not establish any entitlement to a label.

The application and assessment are based on the Rules of Procedure and the General Certification Terms and Conditions.
